Welcome to the Baylor College of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency program website! We are thrilled to serve as Chief Residents for the 2020-2021 year and even more excited that you have taken the time to learn more about us.

We are a three year program and our primary training site is the county hospital of Houston, Texas. We serve the most vulnerable population in the United States fourth largest city, located in the heart of the world’s largest medical center. We also train at a premier cancer center in MD Anderson and Texas Children’s hospital which is consistently one of the top children’s hospitals in the country. You can’t ask for a better training locale than that!

Diversity is one of our main core values and it is quite obvious if you browse our Resident and Faculty pages. You may find our attendings giving interviews on NPR, practicing medicine across the globe, running EMS systems, or even in the hospital C Suite. Our residents are just as diverse, and come from backgrounds that span the globe. Current resident interests include Admin, Sports Medicine, Education, EMS, Wilderness, Critical Care, Ultrasound, Global Health (just to name a few). We pride ourselves on being one of the most diverse residency programs in the country.

Our program has undergone a lot of change in the past year. Our PD, APDs, and faculty leadership remain supportive of our program goals and have been flexible as is the true nature of Emergency Medicine. We are now on the front lines of the COVID pandemic in Houston and stand at the ready to serve our patients. Our program is tight knit and strong, we are looking forward to this coming year.

Emergency Medicine is an incredible specialty and our residents are prepared for anyone, anytime, anyplace. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us, so that we can tell you more about why BCM EM is the best residency program in the country (in our unbiased opinion). We are truly a family and can’t wait to tell you why you should be here!

See you soon,
