Students may seek therapy for a wide array of concerns. In addition to services offered through your insurance provider, Baylor provides two venues through which you can seek assistance. Descriptions of these venues and a chart to help you choose the right service are provided below.

Student and House Staff Mental Health Service

Content

The Student and House Staff Mental Health Service provides up to 12 free on-campus psychotherapy and/or psychopharmacology sessions with Baylor College of Medicine doctoral level faculty psychiatrists and psychologists each academic year. These services, which also include individual psychotherapy as well as relationship/couple’s therapy, are only available to Baylor students, residents and fellows, are confidential and are not reported to administrative personnel or anyone else at Baylor.

Confidential Problem Solving and Dispute Resolution

The Ombuds Office is a confidential, informal, independent, and neutral place to discuss concerns, resolve disputes, manage conflicts, and increase skills regarding communication, negotiation and problem solving. You may reach out to the Ombuds Office as a first step, last resort, or at any point along the way. You may also reach out if you would like to discuss something confidentially and aren’t sure where to go.
