Taking Educational Action in Community Health (TEACH) is an organization at Baylor College of Medicine created with the goal of improving community health through health education in a variety of topics, including healthy eating, women’s health, healthy relationships, and mental health.

TEACH works with Houston organizations that provide opportunities to some of Houston’s disadvantaged people such as Angela House, the Women’s Home and Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men.

In addition to providing a long-term opportunity for students to connect with their population, TEACH provides formal training in teaching strategies for all volunteers to become more effective health educators.

TEACH aims to find compassionate individuals with a genuine interest in serving Houston, and focuses on making meaningful connections with both students and women in need.
