BA from University of Florida
I graduated from the University of Florida in 2019. A freshman year class helped me realized my interest in genetic counseling, and that passion was strengthed throughout my college career. I gained experience in the field by volunteering weekly for four years with a hereditary cancer counselor. Additionally, I volunteered with hospice, spent a summer as a nanny for a child with autism. I also was a learning assistant for the biology department, where I helped to develop and implement active learning into UF's introductory biology course.
Baylor College of Medicine’s Genetic Counseling program is staffed with impressive professionals who push, yet support their students. Continuing my education here has been an incredible opportunity. It is not only providing me an elite education but also cultivating enthusiasm for the work I am doing. Throughout graduate school, I have been sure to priotize balance, whether it be through daily meditation, runs in Hermann park, or dedicating time to my favorite hobby by working as a part-time route setter at a local rock climbing gym.
