Professional Statement
Dr. Hsu is Service Chief of Emergency Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) where she is responsible for the Emergency Centers at TCH-Medical Center, TCH-West Campus, and TCH – The Woodlands.Dr. Hsu graduated with honors from Duke University, obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and Texas Children’s Hospital. She also holds a Master of Education from the University of Houston College of Education.
She has served as BCM faculty in the Department of Pediatrics and as an attending emergency medicine physician at Texas Children’s since 2000. Prior to becoming Section Head/Service Chief in 2018, she held various educational and clinical leadership roles within the Section and Department. These roles included Program Director of the BCM Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Fellowship, Associate Program Director of the BCM Pediatric Residency, and PEM Section Clinical and Education Chief. She currently serves as a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine Executive Committee, American Board of Pediatrics Emergency Medicine Subboard, Subspecialty Pediatrics Investigative Network Steering Committee, and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors’ Longitudinal Educational Assessment Research Network (APPD LEARN) Educational Development Committee.
