Cardiovascular Research Institute 8th Annual Symposium
This event will take place April 7, 2021 (Noon - 4:30 p.m.) and April 8, 2021 (11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) via live virtual sessions. There is no cost to register and all who are interested in cardiovascular sciences are invited join our CVRI Symposium.
The Symposium will feature national keynote speaker, Alan Daugherty, Ph.D., DSc, Gill Foundation Chair of Preventive Cardiology, Director of the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center, Chair of the Department of Physiology, and Senior Associate Dean for Research at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. These two half days will be filled with scientific lectures, poster presentations and awards.
This year we will have a special ‘hot topic’ panel session on April 8, 2021 that will focus on the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on cardiovascular disease.
CVRI will offer CME credits for participation in this year’s symposium. BCM designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ commensurate with the extent of each physician’s participation in the day’s events. Baylor College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Additionally, CVRI is accepting abstracts to feature. Abstract submission is open to anyone interested in presenting their poster on a topic pertaining to cardiovascular research at the CVRI Symposium. We invite you to submit an abstract and present a poster. Please go to the link below to submit an abstract. Abstracts are limited to 1,500 characters. This is a great opportunity to share your research and network with other cardiovascular researchers in the Baylor College of Medicine and in the Texas Medical Center community.
This year's symposium will be virtual. Posters will be recorded and posted on our CVRI website. Winners will be announced at the beginning of the April 8 session at the 11:30 a.m. Award Ceremony.
Please note abstracts can be in any area of cardiovascular research including, but not limited to:
- coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, ischemia
- heart failure, cardiomyopathy
- arrhythmias, channelopathies
