As part of the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Health Resources and Services Administration provided one-time funding to AHEC health workforce telehealth recipients funded under HRSA awards. Baylor College of Medicine’s Center of Excellence in Health Equity, Training and Research utilized this additional funding to support training and research experiences for health professions trainees and clinicians on providing telehealth-enabled COVID-19 care to vulnerable populations.

Postbaccalaureate and medical students affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine participated in faculty-mentored research projects on COVID-19 health disparity topics for specific population groups with a goal of completing a systematic review, preparation of a scholarly paper, and delivery of a one-hour presentation to the general public.

We are excited to offer a pre-summit conference day for our student and trainee’s scholars to present their research. Register here.
