How to Apply

Content

We begin accepting applications Nov. 1. Applicants must be graduates from APA- or CPA-Accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology Ph.D. or Psy.D. training programs. We do not accept applications from School Psychology training programs. Applicants must complete all doctoral degree requirements by Aug. 31, including dissertation. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement for the fellowship.

The deadline for applications is Dec. 15 (11:59 p.m. CST). We will send interview invitations by Dec. 31 and begin interviewing applicants in mid-January. In-person interviews are preferred; however, depending on COVID-19 constraints, interviews may be held over Zoom. The fellowship training director will confirm interview format prior to the application deadline. We will be adhering to the APPIC Postdoctoral Selection Guidelines for postdoctoral fellow selection. The Uniform Notification Date (UND) for postdoctoral fellowships is Feb. 22 (9 a.m. CST).

The fellowship formally begins Sept. 1 and ends Aug. 31; however, in practice, the fellowship begins the first working day in September and ends the last working day in August, which varies from year-to-year. Newly hired fellows should be available a month in advance before the start of fellowship to complete the on-boarding and credentialing process. Applications must be submitted through APPA CAS system (https://www.appic.org/Postdocs/APPA-CAS-Postdoc-Application-Information). Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, CV, and three letters of recommendation.
