Professional StatementI was born and raised in Portage, MI. In high school, my IB Biology courses helped instill my love for genetics. I went on to attend Loyola University Chicago to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics. While there, I was awarded multiple undergraduate research fellowships to study complex trait genetics in seven diverse global populations as a member of a computational biology laboratory. I presented my work at the Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium, the American Society of Human Genetics Annual Meeting, and the Great Lakes Bioinformatics Conference. My work was then included in publication in 2018. Upon graduating in 2017, I moved to Fort Worth, TX to work as a Genetic Counseling Assistant for the UT Southwestern Medical Center in their Cancer Genetics department. While there, I worked as a volunteer with The Women's Center of Tarrant County as a certified Rape Crisis Victim Advocate. I am so pleased to be continuing my road to genetic counseling with BCM. In my free time, I love singing, musical theatre, and going on adventures with family and friends.
