Professional Statement
Our laboratory studies communications between the gut bacteria, the gut, and the brain during normal and pathological states. These studies include hypertension, stroke, aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and cerebral small vessel disease.A second line of investigation involves the control of cerebral circulation during normal and pathological states. Current projects involve the interaction between cerebrovascular endothelium and smooth muscle.
