Professional Statement
The reorganization and expansion of Protein and Monoclonal Antibody Production Core (PMAPC) has been in response to the fast growing need of BCM and TMC researchers for high quality purified proteins for structure and biochemical studies.PMAPC provides SOPs for expression and purification of monoclonal antibody and recombinant protein of interest from various expression systems including E.coli, insect and mammalian. Our core collaborative support includes upfront design and construction of recombinant protein expression vectors, cell-based overexpression of the proteins, custom purification and quality control/characterization of final protein products.
As a Core Director I am primarily focusing on being as a team scientist to collaborate with BCM and TMC researchers on their diverse research needs for quality purified proteins and antibodies and to continually explore and develop technologies and methods to improve on quality, efficiency and scale up of purified protein and antibody products.
